Description
Spanish moss cascading from the branches of a live oak tree in Mount Dora, Florida. Spanish moss is actually not a moss, but an epiphyte, gaining nutrients and moisture from the air and not from the plant that supports it. They are a relative of the pineapple. The live oak is a magnificent tree found throughout the American southeast.
