Artist's Description
The small town of Cojimar (Co-hee-mar), just outside Havana, Cuba. The 1958 move "The Old Man and the Sea", based on the story by Ernest Hemingway and starring Spencer Tracey, was partially filmed here. This town used to be a major fishing town; however, many of the fishing boats were taken by Cubans escaping to the U.S. and were never returned.
About Arthur Dodd
Art Dodd is a self-taught photographer currently living in South Florida who’s been photographing since 1975. Originally educated as an Electrical Engineer, he retired in 2010 to become a volunteer Florida Park Ranger at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. This gets him up close and personal with nature, one of his favorite subjects to photograph. He also enjoys travelling to and photographing other places. Various trips have taken him to places like Panama, Alaska, Maine, Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, and others. In addition to nature photography, he photographs events for District 8 (South Florida) and the Palm Beach Sail and Power Squadron of the United States Power Squadrons and has had photographs published in many of their newsletters.
